What to do on the Gold Coast? With so much to choose from, here are the top ten attractions and things to do that make my “must do’ list for a Gold Coast holiday. This list is for paid attractions following on from my list of the top ten free things to do. Combine these lists together and you have an action-packed, unforgettable, Gold Coast experience!
Theme Parks – it’s an icon of the Gold Coast, it’s world class theme parks including Movie World, Wet n Wild, Dreamworld, White Water World, Paradise County and Sea World. More about theme parks.
Amusement Parks and Centres – for the thrill seeker, the centrally located Adrenaline Park offers the famous Sling Shot & Vomatron rides. For something more down-to-earth, and a little easier on the heart rate, check out Holoverse where you can enter a hi-tech holographic world or Infinity Attraction where you can enter a futuristic maze consisting of 20 multi-sensual environments.
Jet Boating and Water Sports on the Broadwater – based at Mariners Cove you can find a range of attractions including jet boating, parasailing, jet ski hire, boat hire, fishing charters, cruises, whale watching tours and helicopter tours.
SkyPoint Climb and SkyPoint Observation Deck – located in the iconic Q1 building you can take an elevator to the top and then take an amazing 90-minute open-air walk across the very top of the building and the Gold Coast. For something more relaxed, but still, with amazing views, you can visit the observation deck or Seventy7 cafe. Visit SkyPoint
Nightlife & Entertainment – the Gold Coast abounds with nightlife options ranging from the laid back lounge bar to the all-night clubs, here is our pick of the best clubs and bars on the Gold Coast. Also not to be missed is the Star Casino at Broadbeach, not only for a flutter but also dining and live entertainment.
Golf – the GC has some 24 courses to choose from! My picks for the ten top courses are Lakelands Golf Club, Links Hope Island, RACV Royal Pines, Emerald Lakes, Boomerang Farm Golf Course, Southport Golf Course, Sanctuary Cove Golf Club, the Grand Golf Club, Burleigh Golf Club and Palm Meadows.
Learn to Surf – Surfing is what the Gold Coast was built on! And, there are plenty of places and surfing experts to help you learn how to master the waves, some picks are 1st Wave, Surfing Services, Get Wet, and Surf in Paradise.
Skydiving – fly up above the Gold Coast and set yourself free with Gold Coast Skydive and take in the experience of a lifetime and THE most amazing views to be had. Option 2, head to iFLY Indoor Skydiving where you can experience simulated diving in a high-speed wind tunnel.
