A list of major events on the Gold Coast for 2020. The Gold Coast is home to many of Queensland’s major events, these include:
- The Gold Coast 600 – Held in October this is one of the biggest events in Queensland attracting a crowd of around 300,000 + fans.
- The Magic Millions Horse Racing Carnival – Taking place in January and attracting spectators and buyers from around the globe to a week of horse sales, racing, and events.
- Gold Coast Airport Marathon – In July around 12,000 competitors hit the pavement each year.
- Sanctuary Cove Boat Show – Growing every year and attracting visitors from all over the globe the Boat Show is held over four days in May.

Surfers Paradise New Year’s Eve Carnival
Starting with a bang from Friday December 27, from 3:00-10pm daily and until midnight on New Year’s Eve. The Surfers Paradise Carnival offers family-friendly activities and carnival rides including rock-climbing walls, cup and saucer, and pirate ship rides. Culminating on NYE with fireworks at 8:00 pm and midnight.
Bartercard Sail Paradise & Pittwater to Paradise race
The Pittwater to Paradise race begins in Sydney and finishes at Main Beach, Gold Coast at the same time the Bartercard Sail Paradise features racing events off the Gold Coast for four-days. of racing from January 6 to 9. More info: sailparadise.com.au

Gold Coast Film Festival

The Australian Surf Life Saving Masters and Open Championships

Surfers Paradise Live

World Bowls Championships 2020
Queensland’s Gold Coast continues to entrench itself as the home of Bowls in Australia, with the 2020 World Championships to be held at three Gold Coast clubs. Broadbeach Bowls Club, Musgrave Hill Bowls Club and Club Helensvale will host the two-week long tournament, with over 240 bowlers expected to take part in one of the pinnacle international events in the sport.
